MELANOTAN II (Melanotan II Peptide Hormone) is a synthetic version of the Alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone, which is part of the melanocyte-stimulating hormone family. This medication is utilized for photoprotection against ultraviolet ray exposure. Additionally, it is applied for skin tanning, as well as in the management of erectile dysfunction and fibromyalgia. MELANOTAN II is available in 10mg/vial injections that contain 10 mg of Melanotan II Peptide hormone along with excipients.

 

MELANOTAN II Mechanism of Action:

As a derivative of Alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone, it interacts with melanocortin receptors. There are five melanocortin receptors (M1 - M5). Melanotan II targets M1 to stimulate melanogenesis and enhance skin pigmentation. It also has additional effects, such as boosting libido when it influences other melanocortin receptors.
